I hope to use some of the "in-progress" pictures from this sculpture in a tutorial. Sometimes its hard to put down the sculpture and take a picture of every stage of development, but I do my best to document every sculpt from start to finish. This helps me to see how my process is growing and changing, and it is great to be able to share with fellow artists. It also assures collectors that their sculpture is 100% one of a kind and created without molds of any kind. Every sculpture I make starts as nothing but Aluminum Foil and a block of clay. I'll be adding lots of content with "in-progress" pictures. Check back often as I update this page, as well as the tutorial section!
Blast from the past! Here is something I was working on back in 2005. It was my 2nd try at a lifesize baby sculpture. It was my second head, but only my first try at lifesize hands. When I first started sculpting, lots of my creations never made it to completion. Looking back at old work can sometimes make a sculptor cringe when they notice all the mistakes they made, but it is important to look at them once in a while so you can see how much you have grown as an artist. This piece was never completly finished, but I learned a lot! |
